Fryslân House Riga
Because of the proven success of the Fryslân House Amsterdam, the Fryslân House continued in Latvia. In November 2006, the first office abroad was opened in Riga, the capital of Latvia, enabling participating companies to explore the Baltic market from Riga. Priority of Fryslân House Riga is building a bridge between the Baltic States and Friesland, thus creating an extended network for the participating companies, eventually leading to growing turnover.
Fryslân House Riga is being facilitated by the Dutch Camber of Commerce in Riga. Thanks to this cooperation, the Fryslân House Riga has a crew of native-speakers, familiar with the Latvian culture, permanently present at the office. They facilitate the first contact with Latvian prospects and can answer questions of the Frisian participants. Riga is centrally located in the Baltic States and is relatively near Russia.
Now, the Fryslân House in Riga is being financially supported by the Province of Friesland. However, starting from November 2009, this Fryslân House will be self supporting as well as the Fryslân House in Amsterdam.
